Based on the lead Metal Armor from Metal Armor Dragonar, this premium action figure set brings together the XD-01 Dragonar-1 and its massive XC-00 Cavalier-0 support unit in an impressive combination of articulation, mechanical detail, accessories, and die-cast construction.

Originally introduced in the 1987 anime Metal Armor Dragonar, Dragonar-1 serves as the primary Metal Armor piloted by Kaine Wakaba. Its distinctive red, white, and blue appearance, aerodynamic silhouette, and versatile combat capabilities have made it one of the most recognizable real-robot designs of its era.

For this HI-METAL R release, Bandai recreates Dragonar-1 with newly sculpted exterior armor, bringing a fresh interpretation to the original lead machine while preserving its unmistakable appearance.

Standing approximately 170 mm / 6.7 inches tall, Dragonar-1 combines ABS, PVC, and die-cast metal construction. The use of multiple materials gives the figure a premium feel while supporting the mechanical articulation and transformation-style gimmicks associated with the HI-METAL R line.

The centerpiece of this release is the enormous Cavalier-0, the dedicated support unit developed for Dragonar-1.

Cavalier-0 has been created as a newly sculpted large-scale optional unit and can be equipped directly onto Dragonar-1. With Cavalier-0 attached, the overall figure reaches approximately 175 mm / 6.9 inches tall while gaining a dramatically expanded mechanical silhouette.

Bandai has also carefully preserved Dragonar-1's proportions when the Cavalier-0 is removed, allowing the figure to look complete and well-balanced in either configuration.

The Cavalier-0 features extensive mechanical detailing and articulation. Its rear thruster sections can be deployed, adding additional visual impact and allowing collectors to recreate dynamic high-speed combat configurations.

The unit's distinctive head-mounted radome can rotate and extend, while the front armor incorporates its own movable sections. These articulation points help maintain expressive posing even when Dragonar-1 is fully equipped with the support system.

Cavalier-0's pair of rail cannons are independently movable, allowing each weapon to be positioned separately for dramatic long-range attack displays.

Dragonar-1 also comes equipped for close-range combat with its signature Laser Swords. Combined with the articulated body and deployable thrusters, collectors can recreate aggressive melee combat poses inspired by scenes from the anime.

Additional equipment includes Dragonar-1's recognizable Hybrid Shield, further expanding the range of combat configurations available for display.

Fine details help bring the mechanical design to life, including the use of multiple colored clear components around the head disc area and carefully reproduced mechanical features throughout Dragonar-1 and Cavalier-0.
