In the New Legends storyline, Galvatron leads the Destron Armored Corps on the planet Gaia. After discovering the remains of the legendary Dragon and Drill Tank within Gaia's ancient ruins, he scans their data to gain the ability to transform into three powerful modes. By absorbing the mysterious Angolmois Energy hidden deep beneath the planet, Galvatron evolves into an even more formidable warrior whose combat capabilities far exceed those of his enemies.

In robot mode, Galvatron is armed with an impressive array of built-in weaponry. His signature Galva-Axe can be detached from the arm and wielded as a handheld battle axe, while the massive Scissor-Hand mounted on his back can be removed and used as a powerful oversized cutting weapon.
