What is Dino Mech Gaiking?

Dino Mech Gaiking, also known as Gaiking, is a classic Super Robot mecha anime series produced by Toei Animation. Originally airing from April 1976 to January 1977, the series comprised 44 episodes, each lasting 25 minutes.

One of Gaiking's distinguishing features was its unique setting, as it was one of the few super robot series to venture beyond Japan and take place in real locations around the world. Additionally, it was the first Super Robot series to introduce a mobile carrier for the main robots, adding a new dimension to the battles.

In the United States, Gaiking gained popularity as part of Mattel's Shogun Warriors toy line in the late 1970s and was also featured in Jim Terry's Force Five anthology series.

In 2005, a reimagined version titled Gaiking: Legend of Daiku-Maryu was produced, breathing new life into the beloved franchise for a new generation of fans
